Join Jeremy Indika for a practical evening exploring why children stay silent when something bad is happening to them, how parents can encourage open conversations in the home, and how we can better protect children from the risks they come across, both in person and on the devices they have.

“Over the years, I've spoken to thousands of children and teenagers in

schools across the UK. One thing has become clear to me. Although we

encourage children to speak to a trusted adult if something bad is

happening to them, many don't, and parents are often one of the last

people they choose to tell. During this practical evening, I'll take you on a

journey through the sexually abusive situation I experienced when I was

eight years old at the hands of a 35-year-old man, why I kept the secret for

twenty years and what I've learned since. Together, we'll explore how we

can encourage children to choose to come to us, using fresh perspectives,

practical ideas and relatable analogies that will help you leave with greater

confidence and new conversations to begin at home.”

Content Note

This session includes discussion around sexual abuse and exploitation.

While the subject matter is sensitive, the focus of the evening is practical,

supportive and empowering.
