Hatch & Hop: The Easter Chick Experience

This Easter, bring the little ones to Vital Village for a truly magical experience! Hatch & Hop invites children to witness the wonder of life as we welcome a clutch of eggs into an incubator on 25th March. They’ll learn all about the hatching process, make their predictions, and eagerly await the big moment! Then, on 3rd April, return to meet the newly hatched chicks, gently handle them, and celebrate spring with this heart-warming experience. A perfect way to spark curiosity, nurture kindness, and enjoy the joy of new beginnings this Easter! 🐣✨

At Vital Village, we are committed to ensuring the welfare of the chicks throughout our Hatch & Hop event. The fertilised eggs have been ethically sourced, and our incubator will be carefully monitored to maintain the correct temperature and humidity for healthy development. Once hatched, the chicks will be kept in a warm, clean, and safe environment with access to food and water at all times. To prevent stress, we will alternate chicks for each handling session, ensuring they get plenty of rest. All handling will be supervised, and children will be guided on how to interact gently with the chicks. We ask all participants to wash their hands before and after handling the chicks. Most importantly, we have a responsible rehoming plan in place, ensuring that the chicks will be cared for in suitable long-term homes after the event.
